Cleansing and Skincare - Decide On Excellent Advice on More Options

No amount of makeup can cover up the damage if you are not taking proper care of your skin.

Oiliness, dryness, blackheads, rough spots, and redness are all the result of poor skin care. Of course, hormones, diet and exercise also have an effect, but nothing can replace conscious attention to taking care of your skin.

As a woman in her 40s, who rarely wears makeup and regularly attracts men in their 20s and 30s, who can’t believe my real age, I can assure you that there is magic in taking proper care of your skin!

First and foremost, be aware of your skin. If it feels tight, or either dry or oily to the touch, you need to take action.

Are you drinking enough water?

Hydration is absolutely essential - you must give your body enough water in the first place, and then protect your skin from moisture loss with a good moisturizing cream.

Drink 4-8 glasses of water per day. If you’re not in the habit, give yourself a couple of weeks to ramp up.

Once you have the right stuff happening on the inside, you will find that you start to look younger and healthier almost immediately.

Cleansing is particularly important if you have oily skin or are prone to blemishes, but all skin types can benefit from regular cleansing. Don’t use a harsh cleanser - if your skin feels tight and strained after cleansing, you need a more gentle cleanser.

Make sure you use a toner with no alcohol in it (unless your skin is very oily) - alcohol is very drying and can irritate your skin. Read the ingredients list carefully, and make sure that there is no ingredient with a chemical name ending in “ol”.

Finally, select a good quality moisturiser, preferably one with a sunscreen, for use during the day, and a deep moisturizing night cream. A good night cream will contain Vitamin A, which helps your skin to recover from the day’s damage. Vitamin A makes your skin more susceptible to the sun, which is why it is only included in night creams. Needless to say, only use your night cream at night!

The most important consideration when it comes to taking care of your skin is picking out some extremely efficient skincare products.

Many of the most wonderful skincare products are not that expensive, and give good value for money.

Here are some skin care products to keep in mind. You can consider using Cellex C High Potency Serum to get things going. Additional help can be found by adding in Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel, which may also work well for some people.

Those looking for the extremely popular products can also consider Clarins Radiance Plus Self Tanning Cream Gel

Always try to find the skin care products that afford you the the right balance needed for your skin type.

Tan At Home

Tanning beds for many people is an essential part of life. Not just for having a tan, but also for helping with some skin complaints as well. But, for whatever reason not everyone is happy to go to a tanning salon. Sometimes it may be because they are self conscious, or short of time or even because of cost. The good news is that you don’t need to go to a salon as you can get the perfect tan in the comfort of your own home.

If you do want to tan at home, then the good news is that there are plenty of opportunities to be able to buy a good quality tanning bed at a reasonable price. And if you do want to get that healthy glow in the comfort of your own home, then hopefully this site wil show you where to get a bargain.

An idea before buying a tanning bed would be to actually speak to the staff or owners of the tanning salons themselves. The reason for this is they should be able to point you in the right kind of direction as to what you should be looking for in a decent tanning bed. Also they will be able to give you some advice on the best kind of beds for home use, depending on how much you are going to use it.

When you do come to buy your tanning bed, then I would follow the advice found on the buying tips page of this site, and mainly stick within a 100-200 mile radius of where you live. Of course if it is coming direct from a manufacturer or wholesaler then you should be covered by warranty and in that case it will be fine to have it delivered.

Finally, is using a home tanning bed more value for money than a salon? I think I would have to say yes. There are some running costs to take into consideration such as electricity and bulbs, but the electricity costs really are minimal, and as for the bulbs, well again you should get decent usage out of them and they could last you anywhere up to 4 years or so. Plus if you add in the convenience of being able to use your tanning bed whenever you want then I think this whole package adds up to a much better deal than going to a salon.

Starting A Tanning Salon

Starting a tanning salon will have great money earning potential for you, as despite negative press, the amount of people still using tanning beds shows that it is still something that is very popular. However you may not know how to go about starting a tanning salon so here we will cover a few basics for you.

From a business point of view, you really want to have your tanning salon in a popular and busy part of town, where there is enough visibility and easy accessibility for the customers, and ideally where there are other beauty shops such as hairdressers. Also to combine with this you may want to start an ad campaign to get the ball rolling and hopefully get you more customers in less time.

Now although it is important to have a decent first impression with your decor etc.. this is only amounts to only half the work. It is vital that you equip your salon with the best equipment you can afford, so that your customers are getting value for money. And if you get a high powered tanning bed that doe not take long to get good results, then you can have more people coming through as they require less time on the tanning bed and this equates to more money.

One point not to look over is to have some kind of booking system. Of course you will want to have some availability for someone to walk in off the street and use the salon, but you also want to be able to have people book in as well. This is especially true if you have your premises near work places and people are wanting to use the tanning beds in their lunch break.

As you first start your business,  you are going to have to market it until you start to get repeat customers and recommendations.  Marketing does not have to be expensive as you can do things like flyer’s or a press release to your local paper (doing a press release is free by the way). Also you could do classifieds in the local paper as well, just be sure you do not take the first price they offer you and be prepared to haggle a little bit to get best price.

Above all these factors, the ultimate success of any tanning salon will entirely depend upon the services it extends to its customers over a period of time. And as long as the customer remains the priority then there is no reason why your business should not flourish.

Opinions On Indoor Tanning

Indoor tanning, despite any negative publicity is still big business. At present the tanning industry publications are reporting it as a $2 billion-a-year industry in the United States alone. But, in spite of this, Indoor tanning still has health issues connected to it and in particular for women, as 70 percent of indoor tanners are girls and women, and as you may expect indoor tanning is especially popular among teenage girls. And because of these girls being teenagers, this has some health professionals concerned. But, isn’t   indoor tanning is just substituting one culprit for another, and if people are going to sunbathe when the weather is good, can’t they use an alternative when the weather is not so good? After all it is claimed that   indoor tanning is actually a way for the body to fight against some diseases, such as psoriasis or osteoporosis, because the UV rays assist the body in manufacturing the Vitamin D it needs to allay such conditions. So who is right and who is wrong about the use of tanning beds?

Tanning The Skin

Skin cancer rates have been rising steadily in the world since the early 1900s, now of course tanning beds were not around then so this must have started with overexposure to the suns rays. But of course as technology has progressed we have learnt how to mimic the sun for the purpose of tanning, and whilst it makes us look and feel good, the  dermatologists have warned for years that indoor tanning can cause skin cancer and should be avoided.  But, on the other hand, when  your skin is exposed to UV radiation — whether from the sun or from an indoor tanning device — it makes vitamin D, which as mentioned before can help against diseases. To make it even more confusing the arguments fly back and forth. For instance it is stated that the tanning industry claims of melanoma  mainly being caused by sunburn, and that “controlled” tanning helps prevent melanoma by building up the protective pigment melanin is misleading.
Then tanning industry itself counters that by claiming that indoor tanning is a safe way to maintain a “healthy glow” and that it carries little to no risk of cancer. So what are the risks?

Risk

Tanning either from the suns rays or a tanning bed may raise the risk of skin cancer, which I think is an undisputed claim now. But it is the long term exposure or even short term overexposure to the suns rays or artificial sources of ultraviolet light that contributes to the risk of developing skin cancer.  While many believe that indoor tanning is safer than outdoor tanning, it is obvious that some of the same risks are still going to be attached.

Opinion

At the end of the day sunburn is the main risk factor for skin damage, so you could actually claim it is  actually smarter to tan indoors, as you totally control your exposure time. Also, it appears that  in most studies conducted to date, indoor tanners and non-tanners have no statistically different risk of contracting skin cancer.  But where does that leave you as a person who wants to get a tan. My opinion is this, using a tanning bed is no different to sunbathing in that you need to limit your exposure so that you do not get burnt and if you use common sense then there is no reason why you should not be able to have a healthy glow.

Pleas note these are just the opinions of the author and you should get the correct advise from a professional if you wish to use a tanning bed

Domestic Vs Commercial Tanning Beds

Home tanning is a market that is starting to, if not already, booming. And in fact home tanning is becoming such a popular market that tanning beds/booths are finding their way into more and more homes. But even though this whole market is growing, does it offer any advantages compared to going to a tanning salon? After all, the salons can buy and maintain more powerful tanning beds so how does that compare to the tanning beds you can have at home?

Tanning Bed

The first thing to look at is usage. Yes a salon tanning bed is probably more powerful, but it is more than likely used about 20 times a day whilst a tanning bed at home would be used once or twice daily. Also, commercial tanning beds have a very high-tech lamp system in, but in all fairness so do the ones at home, and there is no great deal of difference in the results. I would say in the whole though commercial beds are probably a bit more robust, but that really does not come in to what we are comparing here.

Convenience of Tanning At Home

One of the main reasons though, that people are opting to buy a tanning bed for the home is more convenience than anything else. Being able to get a tan whenever it suits them regardless of time of day or the weather. Also, privacy is a big factor as well, some people are just plain uncomfortable stripping off in a public place even if it is meant to be private. And finally not only will you be saving money with your own tanning bed on the tan itself but also you will be saving on the money normally spent commuting to the tanning salon itself.

Conclusion

The final question is will a home tan be as good as a salon tan? Personally I would say yes, but lets recap and look at the whole picture First of all convenience i.e. you can tan when it suits you. I think that really is the biggest plus to getting your own bed, especially as winter time comes and you do not feel like leaving the house anyway. Privacy, if you are the kind of person who wants an all over tan, then tanning at home is pretty much the only way you are going to be able to do this in the knowledge that you are not being spied on. And finally cost, you really do not need to spend thousands on a commercial, a domestic use tanning bed is just as good and yes you may have to pay a little more for electricity and bulbs, but the electricity is minimal and the bulbs last a good length of time anyway. And when you start to compare those expenditures against the expenditure or commuting to and from a tanning salon and then paying fro the bed session itself, I am sure you will agree tanning at home is a winner every time

Buying A Tanning Bed

Ok, if you have found a tanning bed that suits your buying criteria, but before you buy you may just want to follow some of the following tips to make sure that your money is spent on an item that is going to do the job you want.

Limit Your Area

When buying off somewhere like ebay it is tempting just to get it delivered, and while I would agree if it was a small item like tanning lotion, for a high ticket item like a tanning bed itself I would definitely stay local and pick it up yourself. By local I would say within a 200 mile radius.

Pester The Seller

Make sure you get ALL of your queries answered. Make sure you send the seller 3, 4 or even 5 emails on any specifics or questions that come to mind no matter how dumb you think the question may be.

Watch Other Auctions

Use other auctions to give you an idea of the kind of prices you should expect to pay. Also if there is a specific brand or model you are after, look at completed auctions on that item and find out a general figure of how much has been paid for that item in the past. (TIP: You can also look at the questions on these auctions for ideas as to what you should be asking your seller)

Pick Up

When you have won the auction first of all make sure the seller does not charge you delivery as you are going to be picking it up. Secondly, when you have hired your Uhaul and arrive at the sellers premises, make sure you give all the bulbs etc.. a thorough inspection. Also get it switched on and make sure timers are working as well. Hopefully, by now you should have had enough communication with the seller for this not to feel uncomfortable, and in fact they should be more than eager to assist you. And now once you are 100% happy, please don’t forget to pay them!

Are Tanning Beds Dangerous

anning beds, are most probably one of the most likely things you can start an argument about if you use one and tell someone. They will tell you all about the health risks involved and why you should not use them, and you will tell them all about how it makes you feel and look better. But what is really the bottom line with tanning beds?

Why Tanning Beds
Well, as you are all ready aware, tanning beds are used to increase the speed with which you can get a tan. And these days, tanning beds are a popular not only for when the weather is bad or it is winter time, but also for people whose work schedules mean they cannot get outdoors much. Or, even if you can get outdoors, you may not want to be lying in the sun all day long and just want to speed the whole process up by using a tanning bed. And, this in my opinion is where the arguments start, because of the fact that you can speed up the whole process so intensely, that instead of lying in the sun all day you can get a tan in 10 minutes, so that can’t be healthy, can it? Well before we decide whether it’s healthy or not, lets first look at tanning beds themselves and their usage.

Tanning Bed Use

Tanning beds are used to mimic the effects of the sum by using a mix of ultra violet rays, and it is through this stimulation of the melatonin in the skin that you get a tan. But tanning beds can also be used for somewhat different reasons. Those in favour of tanning beds claim that tanning beds can have health benefits, such as aiding the body in producing vitamin D or that tanning may temporarily help some forms of acne by drying out the skin. It is also argued, that come winter time, using a tanning bed can assist in the treatment of SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), but like most things in life, this claim is up for debate too. So we know it can be used for health benefits as well as giving a tan but what are the risks?

Risks Of Using A Tanning Bed

Now as you are probably aware, over exposure to the suns rays can be damaging, and in all fairness if you overexpose your self on a tanning bed, then that is going to bring risks too. You see over exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation , whether it is from the sun or a tanning bed, does increase your risks of skin cancer and premature aging. But even though studies have shown that people who used tanning beds before the age of 35, have a melanoma risk eight-fold higher than people who have never used them, what also has to be taken into consideration is that natural sunbathing is also risky and potentially deadly for many individuals because of the ultraviolet rays of the sun.

Conclusion

The conclusion to all of this, and it is just my personal opinion, is that yes there are risks to using a tanning bed. However, there are risks to going outside in the sun too. Personally I think the biggest risks are when people take silly choices by lying in the sun for hours on end every single day, or using a tanning bed for excessive times every single day. Like most things in life if you use some common sense and expose your skin sparingly, then you should not be putting yourself too much at risk
